Sustainable Development Leaders Scholarship

The United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) and IE School of Global and Public Affairs (IEGPA) have jointly launched a Master in International Development, a worldclass training program for professionals who want to address the complex challenges highlighted by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The first cohort will begin classes in September 2019 in Madrid (Spain). The faculty will be made up of high-level experts, many of them currently working for the United Nations, as well as top scholars in sustainable development. All sessions will be conducted in English. The curriculum has been designed around the 5P of the 2030 Agenda – People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnerships. In addition, students will further develop their hard and soft skills, learning the most advanced frameworks and tools for policy writing, data analysis, results-based management, political acumen, cross-cultural negotiation and adaptive leadership. The Master makes use of the most advanced learning methodologies and includes discussions with global leaders, coaching sessions, and applied studies on innovation for sustainable development. Students will also benefit from a one-week immersion experience at the UN in Geneva and will develop an applied consultancy-type project to address a specific problem posed by a UN entity or a partner organization.
