The Institution of Engineers are organising a two day long Technical Seminar on the theme Cities and Climate Change in West Bengal State Centre. A cultural programme will also be arranged to give the celebration a colourful aspect. Among the invited guests is the Honorable Mayor of Kolkata. Different orphanages of Kolkata have also been invited to participate in the programme

The Centre for Built Environment, a centre for non-profit society which holds an observer status in Climate Change Convention granted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, plans to observe World Habitat Day through a seminar on Cities and Climate Change in Kolkata.

The City of Toronto is planning to hold an event for World Habitat Day. The event will involve community partners who are building affordable housing.
