Third African Conference on Sanitation and Hygiene (AfricaSan 3)

The Third African Conference on Sanitation Hygiene will draw participants from up to 50 African countries (Ministers and high-level decision makers, government officials, sector specialists and civil society organizations), international agencies and delegates from the public or private sectors, civil society, external support agencies, academia and the media. Delegates from other regions such as Latin America & Caribbean, South Asia, and East Asia & Pacific will also be invited to share knowledge and lessons on successful sanitation and hygiene experiences.

The conference envisages five streams resulting in five different kinds of outputs: Political Stream, Country Action Plan Stream, Thematic Learning Stream, Seminars & Side Meetings, and Technical Fair, Advocacy & Awards.

Objective: to get Africa on track to meet the Millennium Development Goal for sanitation

Aim: to attract the sanitation and hygiene leadership and expertise in Africa as well as the leading African and global agencies
